As Chief Operating Officer or COO and co-founder, you bring experience in the business world, especially in online media and Technology. You are driven for change and empowered in what you do. You believe in bringing new ideas and implement them.

As the company’s second-in-command, you will work hand and hand with the CEO and report to the CEO and the Board on updates. You will work with the other executives and executive management to execute the vision of W-World and WNews. 

You’ll have to maintain control of diverse business operations, so we expect you to be an experienced and efficient leader. If you also have excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics, we’d like to meet you.

The goal of the COO position is to secure the functionality of the business to drive extensive and sustainable growth. As a member of the Executive team, you will be held to a higher standard.

As a board member, you will provide input and feedback into the operations of the company and attend the regular meetings of the board.

Job Requirements

  • – Be a Canadian Citizen over the age of 18, not currently bankrupt (requirements of corporate bylaws and Canada business law) for a board seat;
  • – Proven experience as Chief Operating Office or relevant role
  • – Experience in Media and/or Technology for at least 2 years
  • – Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.
  • – Understanding of a business governance including board, bylaws and core operations
  • – Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • – Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • – Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office
  • – Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • – Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • – Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving 
  • – Experience in fundraising will be a plus
  • – BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
